Dickner
Born in 1972 in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, he writes novels and short stories. Graduating from courses in literature and visual art, he travelled in South America, collaborating with NGOs in the Dominican Republic and working as a web designer in Peru. In 2000, he published his first collection of short stories L'encyclopédie du petit cercle, which was well received by the critics and awarded Prix Adrienne-Choquette and Prix Jovette-Bernier in 2001. In 2005, he published Nikolski, the novel which brought him popular and critical acclaim and has been translated into eight languages. The book received Prix Anne-Hébert, Prix littéraire des collégiens, and Prix des libraires du Québec. He was also shortlisted for the Governor General's Literary Award and the Grand prix littéraire Archambault. He also published Traité de balistique (2006), Apocalypse for Beginners (2009), Révolutions (2014), and Six degrés de liberté (2015), which won him the Governor General's Award. During the Sopot by the Book festival, the Polish translation of Nikolski will be presented (Magdalena Kamińska-Maurugeon, Pauza publishing house).
