Guy Maddin comes back to his home town Winnipeg and hires actors to play the members of his family, so he can reconstruct important childhood events. A surrealistic mockumentary, described by Maddin as a ‘docu-fantasia’, the film was awarded the prize for Best Canadian Feature Film at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2007 and Best Experimental Documentary at the International Urban Film Festival in Tehran in 2009.
